Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has threatened to sue Vanguard over a false article concerning the Biafra agitation led by IPOB’s Nnamdi Kanu

The former vice president bashed the media organization for publishing a slanderous article and attributing false quotes to him-The Vanguard article falsely quoted Atiku as commending Nnamdi Kanu for leading a formidable agitation where others had failed.

Atiku stressed that the news was fake and chided Vanguard for being so disrespectful towards him. Former vice president Atiku Abubakar, has threatened to take legal action against Vanguard newspaper, over a false publication related to the agitation for secession led by leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. In separate posts on his Twitter handle and Facebook page, Atiku alerted the public that the story put up by Vanguard was false, even as he notified the media house of the actions he would be taking against them. The former Vice President stated: “A false story published by Vanguard newspaper has been brought to my notice. In the story, the paper quoted false comments about the Biafra crisis and attributed it to me.“ I have already instructed my lawyers to write to the news organization. It's time, #FakeNews is decisively dealt with.” The posts on the twitter handle of the Atiku Media Office, @AtikuOrg, read: The media house had claimed that Atiku stated that whether Nigerians hate or loathe Kanu, the IPOB leader has fought well. According to them, for the party to return to power and regain the confidence of Nigerians again, they said its next crop of national officers must be men and women of proven integrity. Adamawa Federal High Court remands state PDP chieftain in jail for diverting IDP funds

A former chairman of the Adamawa state chapter of the PDP, Abdurrahman Bobboi, has been remanded in prison on the orders of a Federal High Court judge, for allegedly diverting funds meant for IDPs

Boboi was arraigned by the EFCC alongside two others, on a 16-count charge of alleged forgery, fraud and theft- The suspects allegedly conspired among themselves and diverted the funds amounting to N587 million released by the Adamawa State Government to buy food and other basic needs of IDPs For allegedly diverting funds meant for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), a former chairman of the Adamawa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdurrahman Bobboi, has been remanded in jail on the orders of a Federal High Court in Yola. According to reports, Boboi was arraigned alongside Sanda Lamurde, a former Commissioner for Finance; and Feredan George, a former Chief Store Officer of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). The accused persons were sued by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), on a 16-count charge of alleged forgery, fraud and theft. On the orders of the presiding judge, Bilkisu Aliyu, which was given on Wednesday, September 27, the trio was remanded in prison. Members of the Adamawa chapter of the Agricultural Transformation Agro-Allied Farmers Cooperative Union, had initiated the petition against the trio. In the petition which was taken to the EFCC, the union alleged that they were not given the loan granted by the Central Bank of Nigeria to Adamawa state farmers. They claimed that the state government diverted the funds into the purchase of food for IDPs. Counsel for the EFCC, Abubakar Aliyu, told the court that after carrying out investigations into the matter, the commission had decided to arraign the trio. Aliyu accused the trio of taking advantage of their membership of the State Committee on the Welfare of IDPs, to perpetrate the crimes between March and May, 2015.He stated: “The suspects conspired among themselves and diverted the funds amounting to N587 million released by the Adamawa state government to buy food and other basic needs of IDPs.”The presiding judge ordered that the trio be remanded pending the determination of their bail application.The case was adjourned till November 10.

''The video footage of the assault and the extent of destruction wreaked on his family home are in the public domain. ''Video clips and photographs of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s bedroom riddled with bullet holes from the guns of the Nigerian soldiers that stormed the palace are evident. Four men suspected of fraud arrested in Benin

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested four people suspected of fraud- The four suspects were arrested on September 25, in Benin city.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Benin Zonal office has arrested four persons Michael Agun, Osaikuiwomwan Monday, Vincent Odia and Chibuike Ogbonna suspected of obtaining money under false pretence. The suspects were arrested on September 25, 2017 in Benin City sequel to a petition by a complainant alleging that sometimes in May 2017 he got a call from one Chris Amadi who claimed that he knew him during his National Youth Service year.

According to the petitioner, Amadi informed him that he worked at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Edo State before being transferred to Minna, Niger State and that while he was in Edo State, he transacted businesses with one Alhaji whom he supplied cow medicine (Cow Bruma). Four fraudsters were arrested in Benin, Amadi told him that he would like to connect him with Alhaji for good business but asked him to call David Adeboye whom he claimed was the manager of the company that produces cow medicine.

The petitioner further alleged that upon calling Adeboye, he sent him an account number in which he paid Four Hundred and Ninety Thousand Naira in order to be a cow medicine distributor. EFCC arrests 4 men suspected of obtaining money under false pretence During investigations, operatives of the Commission discovered that Amadi whose real name is Chibuike Ogbonna is the head of a syndicate involving Michael Agun, Osaikuiwomwan and Vicent Odia. Further investigations revealed that Odia Vincent plays the role of a dubious native doctor, parading fettish objects and charms with which they dupe unsuspecting members of the public. The suspects will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

"This afternoon in New York I joined a number of fellow African Heads of State at a Lunch hosted by President Donald J. Trump. We discussed, among other things, America's ongoing support for Nigeria's fight against Terrorism and Corruption. "I thanked President Trump for his goodwill phone call to me earlier in the year, while I was in London, and for fulfilling the promise he made at the time regarding America's supply of arms to our Military, to support the fight against Boko Haram. "Our relationship with the United States is one we value very highly, and we will continue to count on America's enthusiastic support, including for the repatriation of looted public funds, and in the security situation in the Lake Chad Basin and in the Gulf of Guinea."Mushir'sblog had reported that that Buhari met with his Ghanaian counterpart, Nana Akufo-Addo, on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
