Kogi Deputy Gov. Assures Igbos


The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Elder Simon Achuba has urged Igbos and other tribes living in Kogi state not to be distracted by the threat of quit notice from any corner, saying Nigeria belongs to every body.
Elder Simon Achuba who stated this during the 20th Anniversary of the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) in Lokoja said, every Nigerian has the right to live any where in the country irrespective tribes and region inclinations.
He said that the unity of the country is not negotiable, maintaining that together, Nigeria can make more progress and compete favourably with other advanced countries of the world.
On the 20th Anniversary of the church, the Deputy Governor said the church has converted many souls for Christ, praying God to continue using his servants to bring more men to his fold.
The Deputy Governor used the forum to call for support for the present administration of the state led by Governor Yahaya Bello, stating that the administration would take the state to the next level of development.
Speaking earlier, the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bishop Dr. John Ibenu urged civil servants to register, belong to political parties and aspire for positions in government stating that ” if you feel politics is dirty, go there and clean the dirt”.
He commended the Deputy Governor of kogi state, Elder Simon Achuba for his contributions towards the growth of the church, describing him as a committed Christian and a reliable friend.
The CAN Chairman urged the Deputy Governor to continue the good work and the service to God and humanity, while praying God to guide and protect his family.
