Arsenal hammer Brighton & Hove

Arsene Wenger men secured a much needed match day seven win when they welcomed newly promoted Brighton and Hove to the Emirates for their Premier League clash on Sunday. Arsenal were buoyed by their Europa League win in mid-week over Belarus giants BATE Borisov. The Gunners started the game brightly as Alexandre Lacazette hit the post in the third minute with a ferocious volley. Lacazette thought he had opened the scoring in the third minute but his shot went off the post. In the ninth minute Alexis Sanchez hit a long range shot which Matt Ryan did well to hold onto in goal. The Gunners constant pressure told as Nacho Monreal hit home with a rebound volley in the 16th minute after attempts from Rob Holding, Kolasicac and Aaron Ramsey were all blocked. The Gunners celebrate the Spaniard's opener. It was the Spaniard's first Premier League goal since March 2013. Brighton thought they had scored when March's long range free-kick hit the post. Shane Duffy's rebound however could not be directed on target. Alex Iwobi doubled the lead in the second half with a thumping shot after Alexis Sanchez found him with a wonderful back heel. Alex Iwobi fired in the second in the 56th minute with a shot. That was how the game ended as Arsene Wenger's side won their fourth consecutive game in all competitions. The Gunners move to fifth place on the log with 13 points from seven games. They could however be overtaken by Liverpool who are seventh with 11 points and have one game to play later in the day
